Mr.Naseer Ahmad Faruqui (1905-1991) was the younger son of Dr. Basharat Ahmad, the famed author of Mujaddid-e-Azam, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s biography and Anwaar-ul-Quran a commentary on the 29th and 30th parts of the Holy Quran.
Mr. Faruqui had a distinguished career in the prestigious Indian Civil Service which he joined in 1929, and later in the Civil Service of Pakistan where he served in the capacity of Cabinet Secretary, and chairman of the Capital Development Authority where he was responsible for the development of Pakistan’s new capital, Islamabad.
He was a prominent and devoted member of the Lahore Movement ever since his youth. He made an enormous contribution to the work of the Movement in most areas, chiefly as regards Quranic scholarship, interpretation and explanation, propagation of literature, and the general operation of the organization. He was a frequent writer in the Movement’s Urdu and English journals. Some of the other books he authored include: Muariful Quran, a commentary of selected portions of the Holy Quran in Urdu, Light of the Holy Quran (English translation of Muariful Quran), Ahmadiyyat in the Service of Islam, Islam and Christianity, Masnūn Du‘ā’ain,(Urdu) and Kun fa ya kun (Urdu).
