Alfonso Aguilar is a photojournalist based in Washington, D.C. He studied journalism at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His assignments have taken him to cover international events in Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States in the last 25 years.

Aguilar has been executive editor of numerous publications in the Washington Metropolitan Area. He has received many national awards for his in-depth reportage and photography.
