Corneel at The Plaza: How an Adorable Puppy Dog Finds the Key to a Little Boy's Heart

Janet York, a native New Yorker divides her time between training her Cavaliers in conformation, obedience, agility, and canine freestyle, creating figurative sculptures of animals and people in a variety of mediums and writing and publishing children's books.

Janet's former careers included teaching grade school, nursing, and practicing as a psychotherapist in marriage, family, and sex therapy. She began studying sculpture at the Sculpture Center in New York City in 1988. Prior to her work in the arts, she was a registered nurse and then practicing psychotherapist. She earned her B.A. in Psychology form Marymount Manhattan college and her M.A. in health Education and Psychology from New York University.

At the time of this printing her dog Corneel, now retired from the conformation ring, is presently entertaining children and adults at the Plaza Hotel as well as in hospitals and nursing homes. In his spare time, he continues his quest for more titles in obedience and agility. Janet has three children and four grand-children and lives in New York.
