Daniels Song

My name is Katherine Dobney (but you probably already read that on the cover). I love arts and crafts, and I usually feel the need to create something, though I never thought it would be writing a book. Most of the time you can find me behind a sewing machine thinking of some new design. Or behind the lens of a camera capturing images then turning them into digital artwork. But on a sunny day you'll find me behind the steering wheel of my Mustang convertible with my gray, blue, pink, and purple streaked hair chasing the wind. In the north west the sun isn't always dependable but if it's above 50 degrees and dry I put down the top, let in the fresh air and turn up the heat.

After 30 years in the Coast Guard, (I wasn't in the Coast Guard my husband was), we moved every 3 to 4 years. I'd just unpack the boxes and turn an apartment or house into our home. After all that moving I was glad when we retired in Hammond, Oregon. Don't worry if you can't find it on the map. We just tell people to head north until you hit the Columbia River then head west until you find the ocean. It's a beautiful place to live with its moss-covered trees, ferns, flowers, and multi-shaded green landscape.

I live with my husband Mark. He's been my greatest supporter for 40 plus years. We have a daughter and a wonderful son-in-law, two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. We also live with our two companions, the four-legged kind, Vegas and Rosco.

I hope you enjoyed the journey of Daniel's Song as much as I enjoyed going on his journey, and writing it all down.
