Howard Zinn (1922-2010) was an historian, playwright and activist. He wrote the classic PEOPLES HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES "a brilliant and moving history of the American people from the point of view of those whose plight has been largely omitted from most histories (LIBRARYJOURNAL). The book has sold more than 2 million copies. Zinn flew bomber missions during WWII and then enrolled after the war for a Ph.D. from Columbia. He taught for years at Spellman College, and then at Boston University, where he taught until his retirement in 1988. Zinn is the author of many books, including his autobiography, YOU CAN'T BE NEUTRAL ON A MOVING TRAIN, the play MARX IN SOHO, as well as several more plays and more than two dozen nonfiction books.
