About the Author: Toni Toney
Toni Toney has been an environmental activist, researcher and organic-food activist for over 30 years, teaching and speaking to audiences around the world. After almost dying from an acute illness that left chronic reminders, she traveled the world and studied at various alternative healing centers, such as the Paracelsus Clinic in Lustmuhle, Switzerland, to discover how the human body thrives and how it dies gained a passion for “clean eating” and “green living.” She also sat under the Tree of Hippocrates on the island of Kos in Greece where Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, once sat.

In 1988, Toni started a non-profit foundation called Organic Food for Life with the goal of educating local farmers about the importance of organic growing versus conventional growing.

In 1991, she started an organic salad/juice bar restaurant called VegiTable. It became a giant hit. She was written up in Vegetarian Times several times and the response for franchises was overwhelming. Her intention was to have a healthy fast-food restaurant on every corner across the nation. She was on a crusade to change the way Americans were eating and joined hands with others who were driven by the same passion.

During that time, she sponsored an event with Neal D. Barnard, MD, author and president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to assist him in changing the four food groups in Congress. The night of the event, there were over 600 attendees, with standing room only.

From 1994 to 1999, Toni taught hundreds of organic, raw-food classes that evolved into a Natural-Food Cooking School in Los Angeles, California. During that time she became a certified herbalist and studied the power of medicinal and culinary herbs to heal both the mind and body. Through her studies, she began to realize how interconnected our bodies are with the planet; that we are both made up of air, fire, earth and water. She calls herself an Internal Environmentalist, one who studies the internal environment and how to create internal sustainability.

For the last 12 years, Toni has been working on an oeuvre of books on diet and lifestyle, cleansing and detoxification and topics of a mystical nature. She currently lives in Asheville, NC.

She is the newly published author of the Ecotarian Diet, Ecotarian Kids & the Big Four. Following book soon to be published: Ecotarian Immune Cleanse.
“The Ecotarian Diet is far more than being a vegan, vegetarian, or raw foodist. It is a sustainable way of eating that supports the ecological balance of our bodies and our planet. Change the foods you're burning for fuel and you'll not only change the course of your life, but the life of your planet!”
