About the Author: David Beard
David is an Exercise Physiologist with post graduate qualifications from University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University. He was awarded a prestigious Fullbright Scholarship allowing him to spend 2 years studying in the United States where he earned a Masters Degree from University of Arizona with a 4.0 grade point average.
The first Exercise Physiologist to work in the Aged Care industry, David became Program Director of one of WA's largest not-for-profit aged care providers where he introduced health and fitness activities to people in retirement villages, aged care hostels and nursing homes. He has worked with, and helped change the lives of adults from 50 to 100. Some of his greatest rewards are seeing the lives of seniors transform as a result of his willingness to push them to do more than they believed they could.
David understands the practicalities of balancing work and well-being. He juggles a busy work and family schedule with his own health and fitness program. As retired basketball player and tri-athlete he still makes time to ride, run and swim on a regular basis.
