Inside the Beijing Olympics

For the past 20 years, Jeff Ruffolo has been in the forefront of major International events in Asia/Greater China and the Middle East. Serving as the only foreigner and sole American in the Chinese sports marketing structure, Mr. Ruffolo positioned both Beijing and Guangzhou (host of the 2010 Asian Games) as emerging new sports destinations on the world stage. 

Working as the Senior Expert for the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, Mr. Ruffolo was an integral part of the 2008 Olympic Media Center and was instrumental in the English media relations and presentation of the Beijing Olympic Games to the worldwide news media, including editor of all 2008 Beijing Olympic (English) news releases; Chinese position papers; an uncensored monthly column about the Olympics for Xinhua (published throughout China) and editing numerous speeches for the senior leaders of the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing. 

Mr. Ruffolo managed and inspired a Chinese Olympic staff of more than 20 and served as spokesman for BOCOG to world media, which included the Associated Press TV, CCTV, NBC Nightly News and Aljazeera TV. 

Mr. Ruffolo has also held varied senior management positions for major airlines and personally sold and managed more than US $200 million in aviation charter sales with clients including the Rolling Stones, Phil Collins and Genesis and The Los Angeles Lakers. 

A former member of the White House Advance Staff, Mr. Ruffolo is a published author of more than 20,000 career newspaper and magazine articles in the 33 years of his journalism career. 

Mr. Ruffolo possesses extensive Chinese and the Middle East government and global business contacts and has been a frequent keynote speaker at global business conferences in Madrid, Athens, London and Hong Kong.

Mr. Ruffolo currently resides in Guangzhou, China.
