Dr. Janice Witt Smith is the author of Called to Lead: Anointed to Serve: A Primer in Servant Leadership, as well as a number of academic articles and Christian education materials. Dr. Smith's research interests are in examining how women and racial and ethnic minorities experience the workplace and what companies can do to ensure that all organizational members are cared for and developed. Janice is a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management (SPHR). Dr. Smith has been a consultant in human resource management, leadership development, employee engagement, and talent management for other 20 years. In addition, she is an executive coach in her consulting practice, J.W. Smith and Associates, LLC. Dr. Smith is married to "the real" Will Smith and is the mother of Janelle (Patrick) Clemons and Justin (Crystal) Smith and the Nana of Joshua and Gabrielle Clemons. Her husband and she are also biblical premarital and marital counselors and course facilitators, believing that whatever makes you a better person makes you a better leader. She is a member of Wake Chapel Church of Raleigh, North Carolina, where Pastor J. Jasper and First Lady Chery Wilkins serve as leaders.
