Love Poems for Dodie: A Love Story Bordering On the Eternal

I am a man, who at an early age, upon learning of the horrific divorce of my parents, became overly cautious about whom I was to marry. This caution, desiring to know and share only true love with a woman, led me to bachelorhood until I was 63 years old.

At that point in time, God mercifully blessed my life with the woman I had been searching for over 42 years of my life. The Beautiful Miss Dodie, was all I had ever hoped to find, and so much more. I fell instantly in very deep LOVE with this woman. When I asked her to marry me, and she said yes, I knew God had sent her to me, to bless my life.

And such a true blessing she was. The fun, humor, helpful, romantic lifestyle we shared, is something usually confined to fiction. At last, I was able to freely let out, all of the love I had stored for so long within my heart. In gratitude, love poems flowed for my Dodie. Everyday was lived in a wonder of true love.

Although we were together as man and wife, for only 51 months (I lost Dodie to Cancer in 2011). I cherished every moment of life God permitted me to share with His gift of Love, my Dodie.
