About the Author: Margaret Hevel
Peg Hevel, R.N., B.S.N., was a Professor of Nursing at a community college; a consultant and reviewer of educational materials for Marsh Films, Kendall School for the Deaf and Gallaudet College. For twelve years, she was a Nurse Health Educator, community/family liaison and family counselor in the Montana public school system. Peg has facilitated seminars/workshops and has presented at several national conferences including the National Conference on Child Abuse by the Humane Association. Most recently, Peg has been a NARAH certified instructor with WTRRA (Whitewater Therapeutic Riding and Recreation Association) and a Case MG. at the Steele Memorial Hospital in Salmon, Idaho.

Chris Hamer, M.S., Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), has worked with dogs and their families to develop better relationships for over twenty-five years. From 1983-1997, Chris owned and operated Wyndhaven Kennels in Northwest Washington State where she would oversee the training of over 50 dogs each day. She is a certified member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Counselors (IAABC) and a professional member of the Association for Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Chris is a certified evaluator for the APDT C.L.A.S.S. and for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen programs. Currently, Chris is a mentor trainer for the Animal Behavior College students and conducts both class and private family trainings intended to improve the relationships between families and their pets.
