About the Author: Ian Purdie
New Zealand author Ian Purdie first came to public attention with his song French Letter, a protest at French nuclear testing in the Pacific. The song was on high rotation on Australia's national public rock station Triple J for many months. French President Jaques Chirac did not thank the performers for their gift of a CD.

Pyramid Asia is Purdie's seventh book of comedy fantasy, the last two being Splatterpuss and The Book of Nasty.

An unruly child, he was deemed uncontrollable in the tiny remote town of Dargaville on the North Island. After being expelled from boarding school and becoming bored with law school he joined several rock and roll bands. A professional musician for many years, he has produced two albums with the band Lunar Sea Boatman. Greetings Earthlings captured late-night television attention and received international radio play while the follow-up album Lunarverse disappeared without trace.

He has lived a noisy life while continuing his eccentric production of work, dividing his time between Australia and Asia and between music and books.
What could possibly be funny about two Tibetan boys climbing a mountain behind their village and finding a very strange object? Would any sane person laugh when the object turned out to be a time capsule created by an advanced civilisation over 300,000 years ago? And what about when the time capsule produces a hologram showing an enlightened society built on the principle of empowerment, a society which managed to destroy itself?

How can anybody find it amusing when a heroin smuggling gang dispatches a deadly assassin to chase one of the boys and his rich Chinese girlfriend half way across Asia?

Can you imagine what your life would be like if you were not being exploited every day?

To find the answers to these intriguing questions, read Pyramid Asia immediately!
