About the Author: Jennifer McNeill
Jennifer D. McNeill, CSM (Ret) , entered the US Army April 4, 1976. She retired 24 years later. Her career culminated with her promotion to Command Sergeant Major with her last assignment being the Troop Command Sergeant Major, Eisenhower Army Medical Center and the profis (when mobilized) CSM for the 249th General Hospital, Fort Gordon Georgia. During her military service she was the recipient of numerous military achievement awards for leadership to include the Legion of Merit. CSM (Ret)McNeill was also inducted in to the Army Medical Corp Merit Association and the Fort Gordon Signal Corp Association Order of Mercury. . She served the military in both the continental United States and overseas.
Upon military retirement, CSM (Ret) McNeill accepted the position of Director for Patient Services, College of Dental Medicine, Augusta University. From her perspective managing predoctoral; students was no different than managing soldiers. She retired from that position Sept 1, 2015.
During her military and post military career she managed to complete her undergrad degree and two master’s degrees. She has served in numerous leadership positions mentoring and guiding both soldiers and collegiate students as they move towards their career goals. Mrs. McNeill resigned from her part-time position with the University of Phoenix, Augusta campus in 2016.
When she retired, she continued to practice various types of physical activity three times a week. She also became an entrepreneur -- a new partnership with a health fitness company.
Today her primary focus is developing her business, sharing the importance of living a healthy lifestyle with others and actively involved with her local Toastmaster organization.
CSM (Retired) McNeill is a graduate of Webster University and Troy State University. She is married to 1SG (Ret) Louis McNeill. They have a daughter, Ms. Montrece Ransom, JD and one granddaughter, Alyxandra Ransom.
