About the Author: Rodney Earl Andrews
Rodney Earl Andrews was born and named in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in the new Civic Hospital and was taken home to the village of Norwood by his parents. He was too young to walk, hitchhike or drive. That is a good thing as he would not know how to find the small village on Highway Seven, east of the big city of Toronto, Canada.
Growing up in a boarding house under the watchful eyes of parents and two or three boarders it was almost impossible to get into trouble as they knew where you were going before you got there. Young Rodney still tried.
Oral history was passed around the dining room table when family and friends gathered. Everyone was expected to participate, give advice when asked and have a story to tell. The truth got stretched, the fish got bigger, snow drifted deeper and stories were embellished over the years. Uncle John could grow the biggest potatoes in January and cut the most wood in July. Good food, good laughs, and good yarns were swapped by the young and old.

Rod owns and operates a sawmill and with his wife Claire they built a Bed and Breakfast from the ground up called Claire de lune. In Rod's spare time in the evening he escaped to a quiet place between piles of lumber or sitting on cases of nails to write his first book.

"Ten Bridges Seven Churches No Stop Light" is Rod's first of four books. Rod always has a story to tell or a joke to match the occasion and now you have a book full of village people living big and exciting lives. Be forewarned that a good story teller sometimes disguises fiction with truth. They will lull you into a false sense of security, but don't be taken in; hang on to that rocking chair for dear life. Rod enjoys watching other people smile and break out into laughter. Close friends will often catch themselves and give Rod that look. Have I just been taken in? Enjoy the ride to the end.
"Ten Bridges Seven Churches No Stop Light" is a riveting tale of small town people living exciting lives.

This journey will have you hanging onto the farm sleigh as the team of draft horses fall through the ice. Ring the alarm bell on the assembly line and tell the car and truck manufacturers to fix it before you push the start button. Hide in the dark with Manley, a World War II sniper, as he tries to stay alive to get home. Go on the fall deer hunt, fall in love, with teenager Jake Payne and learn how the lure of the hunt is more than the hunt. Visit Ruthie in the auto wrecking yard as she teachers her younger brothers to take apart wrecks for parts. Gentleman there is only one Ruthie. Fall in step with Jack Wilson, the Ice Man, as he walks backwards towards global warming. He has more opinions that an arena filled with coaches at playoff time and if you can't find yours he will give you one.
