Dr. Robert M. Doroghazi has written more than twenty scientific books, articles and abstracts and is on the Editorial Board of The American Journal of Medicine. Dr. Doroghazi was born and raised in Granite City, Illinois, and has lived in Columbia, Missouri since 1982. He received his BS in 3½ years from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, with High Honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his MD from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine with Honors and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He trained in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Cardiology at Barnes Hospital. He was in Cardiology practice in Columbia from 1982 until his retirement in 2005 at age 54. He has two sons, John and Michael, two grandchildren, and is looking forward to a third.

Dr. Doroghazi is active in many charitable and civic organizations. He is past-President of the Great Rivers Council, BSA, and the Alumni Association of the Pritzker School of Medicine and Division of the Biological Sciences at the University of Chicago. He is currently on the Alumni Board of Governors at Chicago. He has received the Silver Beaver Award and the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, and has endowed the Doroghazi Clinical Teaching Award at the University of Chicago and the Doroghazi Eagle Scout Award of the Great Rivers Council.
