Among the firm’s clients are more than 200 health-care professionals and more than two dozen car dealerships. McLarty & Co also has substantial internal expertise in the real estate and construction industries.

In 2009 Ross McShane brought his financial planning and wealth management expertise to the company. In 2010 Doug became an accredited succession planning adviser with SuccessCare. Cross-border taxation services were added when Martha Skeggs joined the team in early 2011. Doug is well-known in Ottawa as a business and community leader. He cofounded the Ottawa Business Network and is a past chair of the Riverside Hospital. In 2000, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) recognized Doug’s contribution to the community and his profession by awarding him fellowship status. Doug currently volunteers with the ICAO in communications and lobbying capacities. He also serves on the board of directors of Ottawa Hydro and is the chair of the board of the Independent Accountants’ Financial Group.

Carleton University, McGill University and the ICAO have all engaged Doug as a lecturer. Local and national media have published Doug’s articles, and interviewed and quoted him on a variety of taxation and financial planning topics."
