Chuck Snearly is an award-winning writer who was born in Detroit. He describes The Guardian of Detritus, his first novel, as a "coming-of-old-age comic crime noir semi-mystery quasi-thriller that features the City of Detroit as a character filled with characters."

Mr. Snearly has worked as a reporter, public relations executive and communications consultant for nearly four decades. He specializes in speechwriting, among his clients are Ford Motor Company, Royal Dutch Shell, the Bosch Group and Dean Foods. He has written one non-fiction book, Speech Right: How to Write a Great Speech, which is used as a college textbook.
