About the Author: Rob Wood
Rob "Kingfish" Wood is a storyteller, cheerleader, and philosopher with a flip-flop fetish. Funny, intelligent, and devilishly witty, he can charm the habit off a nun. His careers -- yes careers - in accounting, manufacturing, human resources, consulting, the stock market, public speaking, and now writing, are proof positive that you can live a full life with ADD.
Rob has an accounting degree, an MBA, and a resume thick with successful entrepreneurial ventures, including opening one of the first day-trading facilities in the Southeast (Block Trading). Other ventures include a partnership in a packaging equipment firm, an automated (computerized) trading firm, and a brokerage solutions firm ( it's complicated.) He's come a long way since his first (unsuccessful) attempt at entrepreneurship years ago, with a t-shirt printing facility based in Athens, Georgia. Having been literally on every end of the spectrum regarding entrepreneurship, he considers himself to be well versed in what it takes to be an entrepreneur, including overcoming self-doubts and "analysis paralysis" when forming a startup venture.
While Rob is certain no one can really know everything, he is pretty sure that he knows a lot, and basks in the opportunity to express himself in many venues, including, but not limited to: motivational speaking engagements, blogs, books (The Kingfish Way), bonfires, cartoons, impromptu discussions in bars, and, of course, on airplanes (will he sit next to you?).
Rob knows for a fact that doing what you love does not have to be mutually exclusive with having what you want. He's sick and tired of people whining about having to keep a job they hate because they need the money. Ten years of doing what you hate translates into a shorter lifespan and less sex (it's a fact, Google it.) He hopes no one, after reading his works or hearing him speak, will continue to do something they hate just because of money. Life's too short and time is too precious, and you can take that one to the bank.
