Cecilia Tanner has written and published five books including Writing in Engineering, (McGraw Hill-Ryerson Ltd.) She taught English and writing skills for 17 years at the University of Victoria to students in the arts, computer, and engineering faculties and in the business school. Ms. Tanner has a private pilot license and has especially enjoyed tennis, skiing and kayaking for recreation.

Tom Mavrovich, now deceased, was an acoustical engineer in Vancouver and Victoria BC for many years. He was fluent in the Czech, Russian, Polish, and Ukrainian languages.
In this novel, Sergey, (Colonel Brushev) and his fellow agent, Yuri, are dispatched to investigate a report of sabotage at a nuclear plant in Northern Siberia. The story takes place late in 1992 when Russia was in disarray with the cultural, political, and personal upheavals after Glasnost and Perestroika. Even remote Siberia is affected by the rumbling disorder. Sergey and Yuri meet the forces of evil—their fellow persons.
