Howard Zinn, deceased, was professor emeritus at Boston University. He is the author of the classic A PEOPLES HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, and the acclaimed play MARX IN SOHO, as well as more than two dozen other nonfiction works on political and historical issues. Zinn has received the Lannan Foundation Literary Award for Nonfiction and the Eugene V. Debs award for his writing and political activism.
