About the Author: Glenn Proctor
Glenn Proctor is a retired newspaper editor, having served 40 years in journalism. When he retired, he was executive editor and vice-president/news of the Richmond (VA) Times-Dispatch. In addition to moving through the ranks at newspapers in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Ohio, Kentucky, New York and New Jersey, he served on Capitol Hill as a press secretary and was editor of the base newspaper at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC. A member of the Pulitzer Prize team at the Akron Beacon Journal, he has taught and lectured at dozens of universities and mentors dozens of journalists and other career professionals. He is a member of the advisory boards at the Kent State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, TX and the Executive Council of the Reginald Lewis School of Business at Virginia State University. A Marine and Vietnam veteran, Proctor is a motivational speaker, management trainer and coach. In the fall of 2011, he will be the Reynolds Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Washington and Lee University.
